Trigger
A trigger is something that pings the flow to run. If one wants to receive a notification of the emails
on Teams, he will make a flow that would be triggered whenever he receives an email.
The trigger will start the
flow and hence a notification will be there in Microsoft Teams.
Most of the existing connectors offer a prebuilt
trigger.
Triggers for instant flows
If one would like to run an instant flow on the tap of your mobile device, just to remind himself to join daily stand-up calls, reply specific messages on Teams at a particular time, he needs to create an instant flow for that. He can run these flows and trigger them from a device himself.
Triggers for scheduled flow
If one likes to run a cloud flow on schedule, like sending weekly status report about the project, respond to new applicants for Jobs in the company, one should run a scheduled cloud flow wit the time and frequency of the flow to run.
Triggers for automated flow
If one would like to create a cloud flow to perform tasks automatically after an event has occurred, like to receive a notification via email or Teams.
Adding a trigger to an existing flow
There are few steps that needs to be completed to add a trigger in an existing flow. Firstly, edit the flow in order to delete the existing trigger, so that one can add a trigger as per his will. After one deletes the trigger, power automate will ask the user to select a new one. user can select the trigger from the list of ’All’ triggers
Once a trigger is selected, relevant triggers and actions will be shown on the screen, user would have an option to choose the best trigger that meets his requirements.
