Update or Set lookup fields in Logic Apps
Logic Apps is a service which allows a technical person to automate their business processes using a visual design interface. This automation may include integration with other Saas Products, third party apps, web, mobile and API apps. This integration is achieved through connectors and actions offered by Logic Apps. Today we are going to discuss the dataverse connector and how we can set or update lookup fields in Logic Apps.
For our demo, I’m using an entity called ‘Broker Licenses’ which has a lookup of Contact entity. To set this lookup field we just need to send the guid of that Contact record.
And it’s successful.
This was a simple scenario but things are a bit different when setting partylist kind of lookups. To show this we will use the owner field.
This has failed because the owner field is a partylist field and it can be of type teams or systemusers. Therefore, we need to define the type as well. Whenever we are working with partylists we need to define their types as well apart from the guid.
Now that we have defined the type it will now be successful.
