Overview: Microsoft Partner Programs
Microsoft believes in accelerating the success of its valuable partners and ISVs. It offers various programs to support growth and profitability as they develop and deliver innovative, successful cloud solutions to customers.
To become a Microsoft partner, it is crucial to set up a business account on Microsoft Partner Center because it is designed to help partners connect with Microsoft, publish their Cosell and Transactable offerings, and utilize their benefits and incentives.
A few Partner programs offered by Microsoft are listed below:
Microsoft Cloud Partner Program
This program is a testament to Microsoft’s continued support for its partners. It delivers tools and pathways for Microsoft Cloud partners built for their success. Microsoft differentiates various partners through this program by assigning them a solution partner designation based on their expertise and the solution area they deal in. These designations enable partners to go to market, grow their business, and win new customers.
Each designation makes partners eligible for a particular set of benefits redeemable in the partner center.
Learn Career Connected
It is a program designed to address the talent gap at scale by recruiting, training, and placing job seekers worldwide. The current program phase is focused on supporting individuals exploring careers in Microsoft Dynamics 365 with Microsoft partners in the United States and Western Europe. This program is intended to support the development of individuals new to the Microsoft Dynamics space.
The program also connects employers to people, tools, and resources that make hiring talent with the right skills faster and easier for partners and enable them to recruit efficiently and effectively.
ISV Cloud Embed Program
The ISV Cloud Embed program has evolved into an OEM-only licensing model, providing discounted licenses for ISVs to build and extend product functionality with Dynamics 365 and Power Platform without concern for the customer not having licenses for the Microsoft product. An ISV sponsors the license usage and bundles the cost into its value proposition - to be paid by the end user. It is particularly beneficial when ISV customers don't have a license.
With ISV cloud-embed program, the customer pays the ISV, and ISV pays Microsoft for its IP. The program attempts to compel partners to create, integrate, license, and publish their cloud solutions with Dynamics 365 and Power Platform to reach new and existing customers.
Embed PAYGO- part of ISV cloud embed program
An innovative approach for partners to integrate their IP solutions with Business Applications products to reach new customers and markets is being introduced with the PowerAutomate product and metered pay-as-you-go (PAYGO) business model.
Transact Program
A campaign to reward and motivate publishers to publish transactable offers on Microsoft commercial marketplace (including Azure Marketplace and AppSource storefronts) and accelerate sales and usage of their transactable offers.
The transactable option enables the sale of third-party software and the deployment of some offer types to the customer's Azure subscription. The publisher must consider the billing of infrastructure and software licensing fees when selecting a pricing model for an offer.
Offerings made transactable into App source can easily be downloaded and used by ISV customers without the need for ISV offering it.
Microsoft charges a 3% standard store service fee when customers purchase transactable offers from the commercial marketplace.
