Data Loss Policies in Power Platform
Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies are a critical aspect of data management and security in the Microsoft Power Platform. These policies help organizations identify, monitor, and protect sensitive data, preventing accidental or intentional data leaks and ensuring that data is used in compliance with regulations and internal policies.
In the Power Platform, DLP policies can be created to specify which types of data should be protected and how it should be handled. For example, an organization may create a DLP policy to prevent the accidental sharing of sensitive financial data outside of the organization. The policy can be set up to trigger notifications when it is activated, alerting the appropriate parties so that appropriate action can be taken.
Creating a DLP policy in the Power Platform is straightforward. Here are the steps to follow:
- Navigate to the DLP policies page in the Power Platform admin center.
- Click on the "New policy" button.
- Select the data type that you want to protect (e.g. financial data, personal data, etc.).
